Graphic Novelist Sean O'Neill signs Rocket Robinson

Saturday October 1st at 2:00 pm

The Second Volume in the Thrilling Graphic Novel Series for Young Readers

Three years ago young readers and comics fans were introduced to young adventurer Rocket Robinson, his cunning and resourceful best friend Nuri, and their daring and adorable pet monkey, Screech. Their first adventure, Rocket Robinson and the Pharaoh’s Fortune, was praised as “…all ages entertainment, all the way,” (Publishers Weekly), an “enormously fun read,” and “one of the Best Books of 2013” (GeekDad.com), while Booklist promised, “…young readers just discovering pulpy adventure stories will be appropriately thrilled.”

The thrills, danger, and excitement continue in the second volume, Rocket Robinson and the Secret of the Saint. Rocket, Nuri, and Screech are back, this time in Paris, a city filled with beauty, mystery, and danger. When Nuri’s uncle—a jazz musician named Turk—is framed for the theft of a mysterious painting from the middle ages, it’s up to our heroes to prove his innocence by tracking down the stolen artwork. The trail leads them through the twisting streets of Paris, where they encounter hapless French thieves, as well as a cabal of secret German spies, who are after much more than just a medieval artwork. The real prize is the secret contained within the painting—the secret of the saint—which may lead to the most sought-after treasure in history. The hunt for the treasure will lead our heroes into a secret Parisian temple, up to the top of the Eiffel Tower, aboard a German zeppelin, into a medieval French castle, and onto a runaway freight train!

While designed for beginning to intermediate readers (ages 8-11), the story is free of inappropriate language, gender or ethnic stereotypes, and violent images, so it’s truly for comic fans of all ages. But don’t worry—it’s still packed with action, danger, and plenty of fun! And it’s not just for kids. Fans of classic adventure storytelling at any age will love it.

In the 240-page book, the streets of Paris come alive in O’Neill’s lively, vibrant, full-color illustrated pages. Fans of the first book will be eager to follow the further exploits of Rocket, Nuri, and Screech in their new adventure, and, because each book in the series is a stand-alone story, newcomers to the series will be equally thrilled!

Rocket Robinson and the Secret of the Saint ($19.95, paperback, 240 pages, full color, 6.625” x 10.25”) published by BoilerRoom Studios; North American distribution through Small Press United/Independent Publishers Group and directly from www.rocketrobinson.com (ISBN 978-0-9893655-2-9)
